Clemencic Consort. Apollo: Terry Wey, countertenor; Dafne:
Krisztina Jónás, soprano; Zeffiro: Radu Marian, sopranist;
Flora: Adrineh Simonian, soprano; Peneo / Fiume: Gernot
Heinrich, tenor. This Italian pastoral has many of the same
features as the first version of Handel's Il
Pasto Fido (1712). The small scale production was well
performed and recorded.

Andromeda liberata (1726). DG-Archiv 477 098-2 (2 CDs,
October 2004).
Details. A pasticcio serenata. Michael Talbot believes that
Vivaldi's only contribution was the aria "Sovvente il sole". He
"would assign Andromeda's arias to Porta, Meliso's arias, the
choruses and the Sinfonia to Porpora (who may have used the
tradition of his native city, Naples, in calling the hunting
horns trombe), Daliso's arias to Biffi (with less certainty,
however), Cassiope's arias, Perseo's other aria and perhaps
Andromeda and Perseo's duet to Albinoni."

Luca Dordolo, tenor. Coro Johann Sebastian Bach di Padova. I
wonder if this might have been a pasticcio. While many of the
arias are stylistically close to Alessandro Scarlatti and
Handel's pastoral cantatas, some sound as if they might have
been composed by Vivaldi (eg, "Alla culla, alla culla"), and
others contain elements from the latest Neapolitan operas (eg, "Quella
non é"). Recommended.
