Scipione (1726)
By George Frideric Handel (Georg Friedrich Händel)
Recordings
Handel.
Scipione. (HWV 20, London 1726). FNAC Music 592245 (3 CDs
1994).
Review by Philippe Gelinaud. Christophe Rousset. Les Talens
Lyriques. Scipione: Derek Lee Ragin, countertenor; Berenice:
Sandrine Piau, soprano; Lucejo: Doris Lamprecht, mezzo-soprano;
Ernando: Olivier Lallouette, baritone; Armira: Vanda Tabery,
soprano; Lelio: Guy Fletcher, tenor. Above average performance
of an above average opera. Artsy, hard to read libretto.

Remastered and reissued on Aparté AP 005 (May 2010).
In addition to remastering, the reissue has set the English and
French translations in readable, left-aligned type, although the
Italian is still in undesirable, center-aligned type though at
least without FNAC's usability challenged fonts and colors.
